Through my years of work in education and with the help of community clergy, I founded Madison Downs Chaplaincy & Consulting (MDC&C). MDC&C was developed out of the necessity for advocacy for disenfranchised families and children. As well as veterans and low-income citizens that have been previously disregarded by municipalities that increasingly encroach upon all of our rights. Last, but definitely not least is our advocacy for those who suffer from debilitating mental health issues. In most cases, we are able to provide all of these services free of charge to those individuals and families we serve. Advocating for disenfranchised members in our community has been my lifelong pursuit, passion and mission.
Currently, I am employed as a proven Special Education Teacher in an urban school district with a track record of success inside the classroom. I have worked at the primary and secondary level and my focus has always been to provide quality and consistent education in our inner-city classrooms. These students are just as deserving as their peers that may get the benefit of schooling in better and more modern or resourced buildings and they deserve the same opportunities for future success.
As a former military officer and Chaplain, I have had the privilege to advocate over the last several years for military families of children with special needs and other disabilities. Assisting our active and military veterans has brought me a great sense of pride. These families are often separated for long periods of time and the ability to give back, although insufficiently compared to their sacrifices, helps us all.
Throughout this time, I have been able to utilize my skillset as a non-profit organizer, volunteer manager, public speaker, mentor and fundraiser to advance my vision and organization forward. Further, I have used my training and education in law to benefit many who find themselves victims of an overbearing and unforgiving criminal justice system. Allow me to work for you. Allow me to work for our Hampton Roads communities, allow me to work for a better Virginia and ultimately a better America.
